F5 uses a system called the Unified Demonstration Framework (UDF) for training courses. This article covers how you can access this system.

Invite Only

You must be invited by an F5 employee to participate in a specific training course. This system is not on-demand. Contact your F5 representative for more information.

New Users

An F5 employee must invite you using your email address. Usually this will be to a specific training course.

Once you are added by the F5 employee, you will get an email to set up your account. This includes a link to the registration page. Click on the link below "You can log into the UDF here:"

Here you can create your F5 account. Enter your first and last names and create a new password. Passwords must contain a lower case letter, upper case letter, one number, and be at least 8 characters long. If you have already created an account with us or with DevCentral, you can skip this step by clicking on "Back to Sign in".

You will then be presented with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Terms of Use. You must agree to this before you will be able to continue.

You are now signed in to the UDF and can continue to the Course List section below.

Existing Users

If you already have an account, you will be able to join new training courses you are invited to without signing up again. You will not need to create an account for future courses. Instead, use the account that you originally setup (email and password) to login at https://udf.f5.com/ and see the list of available courses you have available.

Logging In

To login, go to https://udf.f5.com and use the email and password you set up above.

You will see a list of all training courses, both current and future, that you have been invited to participate in. Click on Launch for the course you want to participate in.

A new tab will open and you will be in the "Lobby" for the course you selected. Here you can see information on the course, a general overview, and your instructors.

In addition, if you wish to use an SSH client to access systems in the training course, you can manage your SSH keys here. The UDF uses secure methods to access all devices, and does not allow password authentication.

Clicking on Manage SSH Keys takes you to this page where you can create a new SSH key in the UDF.

You must use a program to create an SSH-compatible key pair. Many such programs offer choices of the type of key to create. Currently, ED25519 key pairs are the most widely compatible key type.

Paste the SSH public key in the "Key" field, and give it a name. Click Save, and then go back to the Lobby page.

Once you click Join on the Lobby page, you will be taken into the Course itself.

For more details on the Courses interface, please see Training Course Interface.
